Jan is saving 100's of people/ days...

The work atmosphere was an absolute nightmare. Nobody wanted to be here. There was very visible hostility.

We lost more than 100 people/ days resolving conflict and grievances!

AND, the bill from the lawyers was over $12000!

What I like most is the Celebrating Humanity Values Circle© program, which is put in place to sustain the training.
I can only describe it as great!

Our Year end function was incredible – the whole team danced together - what a sight!

JG, Eskom, Johannesburg, South Africa.

JV's team members went from negativity and conflict to promotion, after attending a Celebrating Humanity Harvest© program...

"The whole group of people changed systematically and began to be completely positive towards each other, the company and the supervisor.

Communication, respect and ownership improved from all sides by 100%.

The respect between different race groups has been restored and some of the people who were negative have changed so much that they have been promoted to higher positions with greater responsibility.

Jan Vermeulen, Eskom, Ellisras, South Africa

Million Mbatha of Suncoast Casino has already sent over 700 of his team on the 1 day Celebrating Humanity Eye-Opener programme.

I have no doubt in my mind that this intervention will go a long way towards creating an environment in which equity in the workplace is not seen as a threat but as an opportunity to diversify our workforce and improve skills.

The company now intends to roll out the NEXT STAGES of the training to all levels of employees.

It confirmed that we are all people with similar aspirations and values systems.

Our diversity in the workplace and cultural composition should enhance our relationships, rather than fragment them.

I realised that this was a life-changing experience.

We would continue to regulate future behaviour and interaction with others.

You showed me that there are many ways to deal with diversity in the workplace situations and people, which helped me a lot in my personal life, and in my work.

To be able to be with my co-workers in a calm and relaxed environment, made me realize we are all different, but so alike.

Workplace Diversity Testimonials

BMW South Africa

Celebrating Humanity Workplace Diversity programme - Led by Brian and Arthie Moore of Mthimkhulu International.

Delegates' feedback - Day 1 9 April 2003

  1. It made me feel light being able to share my challenges and know that others were willing to help me.
  2. Even though we have different cultures, religions, languages and beliefs, we are similar - very interesting.
  3. The wonderful way that you present the course, It is so free and helped us to interact with each other.
  4. I am learning more today than I ever had because of the way that you create the surroundings to be so peaceful. It is powerful.
  5. Respect is the most important thing to give and learn about.
  6. This course is very open. People talk. We opened up and communicated.
  7. It is very well structured. Everyone is free and relaxed.
  8. We are all strangers yet this is the first time we have come together as a lovely team. If the country interacted the way we have today, there will be no anger, conflict or racism.
  9. We can all get along with people regardless of what different cultures/religions we come from.
  10. I am very nervous and shy generally, now I am relaxed and unstressed and able to open up more. I feel free to communicate. I have never expressed myself like this before.
  11. We come from so many diverse backgrounds and religions, but there is only one religion and culture. That is one of love and acceptance and respect. With that, we all will be a powerful team.
  12. I now feel comfortable and open enough to get answers from anyone without feeling scared.

DAY 2 - 9 April 2003 Verbal Feedback after Lunch

What has changed for me?

  1. I have learnt how to react to situations according to my assessments of personalities and learning styles and how to handle my anger.
  2. I will respect more and won’t hesitate to meet and mix with people of different cultures now.
  3. Very relaxing, brings out the true person in you. Seems as if I have known everyone for years. Whatever I want to do in life, I can just go for it .
  4. I have learnt more today from all the cultures than I would have from reading books. I have made great friends. It teaches me not to judge a book by its cover.
  5. It took you only two days to bring out the best in me. You have shown me how to handle situations, how to be humble yet strong. Just like yin and yang. Yin always triumphs over yang, yet the two cannot be separated.
  6. This is brilliant. I am a changed person. When I leave here there will be a few more changes in my personal and work life. I can change, show more respect and see people not as different, but as people. I have really grown.
  7. I have always had adjustment problems even in school. I now realise how good a person I am. It is OK to be me. It is cool to be me.
  8. Through exciting interaction, we were taught what different personality types are really like. We can’t put people into categories. I was able to understand the people who work under me, better. I received personal advice that I am really grateful for. It has helped me save my personal relationship.
  9. It changed my life. It was wonderful to get away from tension and stress. The environment that you created allowed me to learn and understand more than I have ever had the opportunity to before.
  10. You and Arthie are a very good team, very successful. You will go a long way. I have watched the both of you this past few days and was impressed. You are both from different backgrounds, yet you respect each other and work well together. If I ever get married, I will keep you both as my example.
  11. A lot of fun. I know now how to put fun back into learning and teaching. Good people, great fun in life!
  12. Brian and Arthie, if it wasn’t for you two being who you are, you would not have been able to open up 12 lives. I am wiser now. When I get home, I know how to respond not react. You will change many more lives in the future.
  13. I am happy to be here, working together with you. I learnt that being able to respect is easy.
  14. Every person who attends this course will benefit personally as well in family and work life.

Celebrating Humanity Workplace Diversity programme - led by Brian and Arthie Moore, of Mthimkhulu International.

Introduction

The purpose off this report is to provide some commentary on the “Celebrating Humanity” workshop which I recently attended. I have decided that my comments will focus on my personal experiences during the course.

Day One

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the venue. The balloons, books, photographs and other personal memorabilia served to create a wonderfully festive atmosphere. I was immediately filled with a sense of anticipation and excitement as to what lie ahead in the next three days.

The whole day was spent on a journey of discovery. I was impressed by the various activities of the day and the self-discovery that accompanied those activities.

Day Two

Whilst day one focussed on an introspection of the individual, the importance of teamwork is being manifested. We began with a group of people who did not know one another very well, but are quickly developing into a cohesive unit, which functions as a highly efficient team.

I am surprised by the enthusiasm and enjoyment being expressed by all the participants. Each person is actively contributing to their own and other’s development. The diverse pool of knowledgeat our disposal is an obvious strength within the team.

The exercises today revealed a genuineness and sincerity amongst all the participants. I found the exercises to be emotionally challenging. I discovered that my previous attitudes and opinions were being altered by this new knowledge.

Day Three

I felt a trifle uneasy this morning. I realise that this would be the last day of this wonderful experience. During the course of the day we established the “Value Circle”. As a group we decided upon a set of values which we all believed in.

This exercise confirmed the fact that we all are people with similar aspirations and value systems. Our diverse cultural composition should enhance our relationships, rather than fragment them.

I also realised that this was not a once exercise, but rather a life-changing experience. The “Value Circle” was established to assist us to grow in our new found knowledge. Furthermore, the agreed upon values would continue to regulate future behaviour and interaction with others.

Conclusion

This has certainly been a life changing experience. Brian and Arthie Moore add a new dimension to the concept of team building. I was most impressed by their genuine sincerity, knowledge and unique style.

I am also impressed by the fact that each participant is assured of continuous support and encouragement, from the presenters.

I felt that the presentation was extremely dynamic and catered to the needs of the participants.

My overall impression is that the presentation was professional, the facilitators are experts in their field and this has certainly been one of the best team building exercises, which I have attended.

Thank you - InspectorAshley Dove - Durban Metro Police 23/11/2002

1 day Public course. Celebrating Humanity Workplace Diversity programme - Led by Brian and Arthie Moore of Mthimkhulu International.

Never before have I seen such togetherness and willingness of people from different cultures and backgrounds to participate openly with love and understanding on issues relating to humanity.

I was able to express my innermost feelings to total strangers sitting around a table. I was fascinated by the different languages and cultures that the delegates came from. Ideas flowed freely and my colleagues drew great vigour and energy when answering questions from the floor.

Day 1 - Delegates' Feedback:

  1. Everybody was stiff in the morning. Now there is no stiffness, everything is fluid.
  2. Absolutely amazing team building.
  3. Took away the facades and the racism.
  4. Made us look at each other as human beings.
  5. Incredible.
  6. Eye opener. Made me accept that I am different, but I can be respectful to all cultures.
  7. Wonderful to find out that there is more to people that meets the eye.
  8. Different perspectives on how to approach our manager. How to approach different people to achieve different results.
  9. Learnt more about personalities. What made me happy, was to not judge others, praise more and be more sensitive to others. Not crush them with the negative.
  10. Amazing. I got to create friendships with people I would not normally meet.
  11. We need to take time to learn other people’s personalities and not just judge them. It helps me to motivate them better. Very good team building.
  12. Taught us how easy and fast it is to break down barriers and unite as a team.
  13. I am happy because I’ve learnt how to work with other people to bring the good stuff out.

Public Course

What was interesting for me on a personal level was that, I experienced a feeling of genuine comradeship that had entered into the group (Not the superficial type that is generally expected and synonymous with this type of workshop).I left feeling a sense of inspiration and motivation.

What also appealed immensely to me were the Accelerated learning techniques that were employed in the workshop. These included a variety of learning 'experiences' linked to physical activity and fun, and these served to create an atmosphere where learning took place in a 'fun' and effective way.

Thank you for a wonderful day
